Shipping Policy

Wholesale Tallow Soap LLC ships heavy, dense orders. Soap is significantly heavier than most retail products, and our shipping policies are designed to ensure your bars arrive without dents, crushing, or heat damage.

Processing and lead times

Lead time refers to the time it takes for us to prepare your order before it is handed to the carrier.

Stock orders

• Processing time: orders under 200 units ship the next business day, all year.
• Orders of 200 units or more: we email you a ship date after you order. It depends on what you order and what we have in stock.
• Units count across your whole order. Custom labels and custom soap boxes have their own timelines, below, and do not count toward the 200.

Labeled and custom formula orders

• Labeled orders: timing depends on the products, the quantity, and your label printing. We confirm the ship date with you.
• Custom formula orders: production is scheduled after you approve your pilot, and we confirm the production and ship date when you order.
• Soap bars can ship before they finish curing. We recommend at least 2 to 4 weeks of curing from the production date before you sell them. See our Production and Curing Policy.

Shipping methods and carriers

Every order ships by parcel, at any order size. We use UPS Ground, USPS Ground Advantage, or USPS Priority Mail, whichever fits each box and address.

The 35 lb box rule (split shipments): To prevent lower layers of soap from being crushed by their own weight, each box weighs at most 35 lb packed, about 33 lb of product. Larger orders ship in several boxes, and checkout adds every box into one shipping charge. For example, 400 lb of product ships as 12 full boxes plus one small box, with one shipping charge. Boxes can arrive on different days.

Shipping costs

Shipping is calculated at checkout from your destination ZIP code and total order weight, using UPS and USPS rates. You see the exact amount before you pay, and you pay it with your order, bulk tallow included. The shipping charge covers the carrier label and packing materials. Because carrier pricing varies by destination, dimensions, and service, the checkout amount may not exactly equal the final label price.

Example: 50 bars weigh about 17 lb.

Bulk tallow shipping

Bulk tallow shipping works like every other product: it is calculated at checkout from your ZIP code and order weight, and you pay it with your order.

Bulk tallow buckets ship as sealed 1-gallon containers, one bucket per box. Each 35 lb block also ships in its own box.

Bulk tallow ships in its own boxes, separately from soap and body care, so an order with both can arrive in separate deliveries. You still pay one shipping charge at checkout.

Custom labels and custom soap boxes

• Printed labels from our custom labels page and printed boxes from our custom soap boxes page ship on their own, straight from the printer, as a shipment separate from the rest of your order. They never add to your order’s shipping charge.
• Custom labels ship free within the lower 48 states, in about 6 business days after you approve your artwork. For Alaska, Hawaii, or APO, FPO, and DPO addresses, email hello@wholesaletallowsoapusa.com for a shipping quote.
• Custom soap boxes ship free to any US address, in about 10 business days after you approve your proof.
• Want us to apply them? Choose Send to us to apply when you order, and your labels or boxes come to our shop instead of to you, ready to apply to your stock before it ships to you.

Ownership and risk of loss (FOB Origin)

All wholesale orders are shipped FOB Origin.

• Transfer of ownership: Once the package is scanned by the carrier (UPS or USPS), title and ownership of the goods transfer to you, the Buyer.
• Carrier delays: We are not responsible for delays caused by weather, carrier strikes, or high volume. We cannot refund shipping costs for packages delivered late by the carrier.
• Lost packages: While we will assist you in filing a claim, we are not financially liable for packages lost or stolen after they have been successfully delivered to your address. Please ensure you have a secure delivery location.

Summer shipping (heat warning)

Tallow has a melting point of approximately 95°F to 100°F. During summer months (June to August), we reserve the right to delay shipping if there is a heat wave on the shipping route to prevent your bars from “sweating” or softening in transit.

We recommend stocking up heavily in spring to avoid summer shipping risks.

Where we ship

We ship to United States addresses only: all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii, plus APO, FPO, and DPO military addresses. PO boxes ship by USPS. We do not ship outside the United States.
