Our tallow soap and body care are made with pasture-raised, grass-fed tallow from small US family farms and handcrafted in the USA. Our bulk tallow carries different claims, so we list those too.

Leave it off your front label
Keep these off front labels, shelf cards, and listings. Organic needs a certification we don’t have, and the rest are unverified or promise too much.

Why organic stays off the front label. Our tallow and beeswax are sourced from organic suppliers, but we are not certified organic, so our finished products can’t be called organic. Keep “organic,” “100% organic,” “certified organic,” and USDA seals off front labels, shelf cards, and listings. If you print an ingredient list, you can name organic ingredients exactly as ours does.
Tie the claims to the tallow. Say “food-grade tallow” or “tallow with no additives,” not “food-grade soap,” because the finished soap and body care contain other ingredients.
One fragrance oil in the line. Coconut Milk & Tallow Soap is scented with a coconut cream fragrance oil, and every other scented tallow product uses essential oils. Lip balm flavors come mostly from natural flavorings, extracts, and fruit or plant powders, so name each flavor’s ingredients instead. If your line includes either, skip “essential oils only.”
No tallow, no tallow claims. Our Syndet Shampoo Bar, Natural Conditioner Bar, and Solid Dish Soap Block contain no tallow, so keep tallow, grass-fed, and pasture-raised claims off their labels. They are palm-free too, and the Coconut Cream scent of the shampoo and conditioner bars uses the same coconut cream fragrance oil.

Soap, body care, and bulk tallow carry different claims
Our two bulk tallows are sold for cosmetic use and cooking, for the soaps, balms, creams, and lotions you make or for your kitchen, and their claims differ from our soap and body care. Check the column for what you buy.

- Bulk Suet Tallow is never sold as grass-fed or pasture-raised.
- Bulk Grass-Fed Grass-Finished Suet Tallow is grass-fed and grass-finished, but not pasture-raised.
- Both bulk tallows are dry-rendered, food-grade, not bleached or deodorized, and have no additives. Both are sold for cosmetic use and cooking.
- Pasture-raised and small US family farms are claims for our soap and body care only.
Where our tallow comes from
Every tallow soap bar and tallow body care product we make starts with pasture-raised, grass-fed, grass-finished tallow from small US family farms. The tallow is dry-rendered, food-grade, never bleached or deodorized, and has no additives.
Our own production team handcrafts each one in the USA, and we have been in business since 2022.
Tallow test results
Lot 26190 of the tallow in our tallow body care and Bulk Grass-Fed Grass-Finished Suet Tallow was tested by Light Labs, an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited lab, with results released July 31, 2026: moisture 0.17%, peroxide value 7.4 meq/kg, acid value 1.15 mg KOH/g, and no E. coli, Salmonella, or Staph aureus detected. Every lot of that tallow is bought to our written specification.
Our bar and liquid soap use a separate grass-fed, grass-finished beef tallow. Our soap tallow supplier’s certificate of analysis (fatty acid profile by GC/MS, March 2026) is summarized in our soap tallow fact sheet; it is the supplier’s own certificate, not a third-party test.

Writing your label or shelf card
- Tie the claim to the tallow. Say “made with pasture-raised, grass-fed, grass-finished tallow,” not “grass-fed soap,” and “food-grade tallow,” not “food-grade soap.”
- Name scents the way the product page does. Our Charcoal & Tallow bar is scented with lavandin, cypress, and bergamot oils, not lavender.
- Describe the ingredients, scent, and use. Leave out promises about skin or health.

All frequently asked questionsCan I call your soap or body care organic?
No. Our tallow and beeswax are sourced from organic suppliers, but we are not certified organic, so our finished products can’t be called organic. Use the word only in a printed ingredient list, exactly where ours names an organic ingredient.
Can I call your soap grass-finished?
Yes, as a claim about the tallow. The tallow in our soap and body care is pasture-raised, grass-fed, and grass-finished, so “made with grass-fed, grass-finished tallow” is accurate. Of our bulk tallows, only Bulk Grass-Fed Grass-Finished Suet Tallow is grass-finished.
Is your soap palm-free?
Yes. We don’t use palm in any product we make. In our bars, tallow is the hard fat that many other soaps get from palm oil, and our bulk tallow is pure tallow.
Is your bulk tallow pasture-raised?
No. Neither Bulk Suet Tallow nor Bulk Grass-Fed Grass-Finished Suet Tallow is pasture-raised. That claim belongs only to our tallow soap and tallow body care.
I make soap with your bulk tallow. Can I use this standard?
No. This standard covers the soap and body care we make. For your own products, use the claims listed above for the bulk tallow you buy. Our guide to bulk tallow for soap making helps you choose.
Can I sell the bars as soon as they arrive?
Yes, you can sell them whenever you choose. We recommend at least 2 to 4 weeks of curing, counted from the production date. Bars can ship before they finish curing, and the sodium lactate in our formulas helps them firm up faster. See our Production and Curing Policy.
Can I try the products before I stock them?
Yes. Soap samples are 2 oz for $3 in any scent, and lotion samples are 1 oz for $3. Add them to your cart and check out, with shipping shown before you pay. Other products have no sample size, so order one at its base size, with no minimum. Pick your samples.
Is your tallow lab tested?
The tallow in our body care and grass-fed bulk tallow is.
