Factory Direct Support

Whether you are a homestead boutique scaling up or an established skincare brand switching suppliers, we have the answers.

Getting Started & Basics

Why should I outsource to you instead of making it myself?

Making tallow soap at home is rewarding, but scaling it is a nightmare. Rendering suet smells, handling commercial quantities of lye is dangerous, and curing requires massive humidity-controlled space.

We act as your production floor. By outsourcing to us, you reclaim your time to focus on marketing and sales, while ensuring your customers get a consistent, professionally cured product every single time.

Who can buy from you? Do I need a license?

We sell B2B (Business to Business). You do not need a special “soap license,” but you do need a valid State Resale Certificate or Tax ID (EIN) to prove you are a business. This allows us to sell to you tax-free.

What are your minimums (MOQ)?
  • Stock Recipes (Unlabeled): 50 Bars (1 Case).
  • Custom Formulation (Your Recipe): 1,000 Bars per SKU.

Product & Ingredients

Why does the color of the soap change?

Because we use real, grass-fed tallow. Cows eating spring grass produce fat rich in Beta-Carotene (yellow soap). Cows eating winter hay produce paler fat (white soap). We do not bleach our tallow. We embrace this seasonal variation as proof of quality.

Is your tallow actually grass-fed?

Yes. We source exclusively from US ranchers who raise grass-fed, grass-finished cattle. The suet is rendered in-house or by trusted rendering partners who adhere to our strict lipid profile standards.

Do you use Lye? I thought lye was bad.

No soap exists without lye. “Soap” is literally the result of a chemical reaction between Fat + Lye + Water. Once the reaction (saponification) is finished, no lye remains in the bar. If a brand claims their soap is “Lye Free,” they are either using a synthetic detergent bar (not soap) or they are misinformed.

Private Label vs. Custom Mfg

What is the difference?

Private Label (Stock)

You buy our proven, pre-made recipes (Unscented, Lavender, etc.) that are already cured and on the shelf. You apply your own label.

  • MOQ: 50 Bars
  • Lead Time: 2-4 Days
  • Cost: Lower

Contract Mfg (Custom)

We engineer a unique recipe just for you (e.g., “add Sea Moss and Sandalwood”). We manufacture it from scratch.

  • MOQ: 1,000 Bars
  • Lead Time: 6 Weeks
  • Cost: Higher (Lab fees apply)
Can I send you my own ingredients to use?

For Custom Manufacturing orders (1,000+ bars), yes. If you have a specific local honey or proprietary essential oil blend, we can incorporate it into the batch, provided it passes our safety assessment.

Labeling & Packaging

Do the bars come with labels?

No. We sell “Naked” bars. They arrive in master cases, unbranded. You are responsible for designing, printing, and applying your own cigar bands or boxes. This allows you to have total control over your brand aesthetic.

What size are the bars?

Our standard bar is approximately 3.5″ x 2.5″ x 1″. It weighs roughly 4.5oz to 5.0oz depending on the cut and cure time.

Shipping & Logistics

Why is shipping so expensive?

Soap is dense and heavy. A small box of 50 bars weighs nearly 18 pounds. We pass through our commercial negotiated rates with UPS and FedEx directly to you without markup, but freight is simply a reality of the soap business.

Can I return the soap if I don’t like the scent?

No. All wholesale sales are final. Due to hygiene and chain-of-custody safety, we cannot restock products once they leave our facility. We strongly recommend buying a Sample Kit before committing to a case pack.
