Private-label buyer guide

Plan a branded tallow soap line without guessing.

Buy any quantity. Add your own label. Build your brand.

Every product in our catalog is available to order online with no minimum order quantity. Your products arrive unlabeled, ready for you to add your own labels and sell under your brand. Wholesale, white label, or private label: the ordering process is the same. Only custom formulas require a 200-unit minimum.

A strong first line does not begin with a custom formula or a large catalog. It begins with a clear customer, a few bars worth sampling, honest unit economics, and a packaging plan your business can actually execute.

Choose the right operating model

Wholesale and private label use the same catalog. Custom changes the formula.

The fastest path is the one that gives you enough control without adding work your business does not need yet.

Plan your launch

Make six decisions that keep the launch focused.

01

Name the buyer

Choose the customer and selling environment first. A boutique gift assortment may need a different scent mix than an online tallow-focused brand.

02

Keep the first assortment tight

Start with a few distinct directions instead of trying to launch every available bar. Give each formula a clear job in the line.

03

Handle the bars

Appearance, scent, texture, and packaging fit are easier to judge from a physical sample than a product photo.

04

Define the packaging owner

Stock soap bars are 4 oz and arrive unlabeled. Choose your labels, wraps, or boxes and apply your branding when the products arrive.

05

Choose a realistic quantity

Private-label and white-label orders have no minimum. Choose any product in our catalog, order online, and add your own labels when it arrives.

06

Plan the next order now

Decide what sales signal would trigger a reorder, a larger tier, or a move into custom development.

Private-label economics

The bar price is only one part of the landed cost.

WTS volume pricing gives you a visible starting point, but your real cost per sellable unit also depends on packaging, labels, freight or parcel shipping, storage, payment fees, sampling, marketing, and the labor required to prepare the final product.

Build the calculation before choosing a retail price. Leave enough room for the sales channel you intend to use, including wholesale-to-retailer margins if another store will sell the finished product.

Review current volume pricing

Simple landed-cost checklist

  • Wholesale cost of each bar
  • Labels, wraps, boxes, and inserts
  • Inbound parcel shipping or freight
  • Assembly, storage, and handling
  • Payment, marketplace, or retailer costs
  • Sampling and customer-acquisition costs
A lower-risk launch sequence

Move from product fit to a repeatable line.

01

Choose your products

Browse the catalog, select your products, and choose the quantity that fits your launch.

02

Evaluate samples

Ask what is available now. A specific requested formula may require a later sample delivery.

03

Order online

Add your products to the cart and check out. They arrive unlabeled so you can apply your own branding.

04

Launch and learn

Track sales by formula, customer feedback, reorder timing, and the questions your packaging or product story still leaves unanswered.

When custom becomes useful

Move beyond private label when the stock formula is the constraint.

Custom manufacturing is not automatically the better path. It becomes useful when demand is clearer, your product brief is specific, and the existing catalog cannot deliver the formula direction your brand needs.

Signals that you may be ready

  • You can explain exactly why the stock catalog is not enough
  • You know the customer and sales channel
  • You have a realistic volume and launch plan
  • You are ready to align formula, documentation, packaging, and production responsibilities

Private-label questions

Answers to settle before ordering.

What is the current private-label starting quantity?

Private-label and white-label orders have no minimum. Choose any product in our catalog, order online, and add your own labels when it arrives.

Can different formulas count toward the same pricing tier?

You can order different catalog products together. Volume pricing follows the product family and size rules shown on each product page. Adding your own label does not change those rules or create a minimum order.

Do the bars arrive with my labels?

Current stock bars are supplied without consumer-facing labels. Plan who will design, print, apply, and review the final packaging and label copy.

How long does a private-label order take?

Timing depends on the selected formulas, current stock, quantity, packaging responsibilities, and shipping method. WTS confirms expected timing before the order is finalized.

Can I request a specific sample?

Yes, but sample inventory changes. Ask what is available now. A specific formula may need to be prepared for a later delivery.

Where does the tallow come from?

The grass-fed tallow used in WTS soap is sourced from small family farms. Review Our Tallow Standard for the current sourcing and documentation scope.

A practical first step

Choose the bars worth putting your name on.

The WTS tallow standard

Pasture-raised, grass-fed tallow from small family farms.

Our tallow is dry rendered, never bleached or deodorized, and contains no additives. Product declarations identify organic ingredients wherever they appear in the selected formula.
