Which tallow should I buy for soap sold as grass-fed?
Bulk Grass-Fed Grass-Finished Suet Tallow. It is the only bulk tallow we sell as grass-fed and grass-finished. Bulk Suet Tallow is sold without a grass-fed claim, so don’t describe soap made with it as grass-fed.
How do I work out the lye for tallow soap?
Use a soap calculator with your exact recipe. Our free tallow soap calculator shows the NaOH, water, superfat, and lye purity behind every result, and prints a batch record.
Should I buy buckets or blocks?
Buckets for test batches and small runs, blocks for production. Blocks cost less per pound, and 57 or more cost less again. Bucket prices stay the same at any quantity.
Can I get a sample before I buy more?
Yes. Bulk tallow has no sample size, so order one 7 lb bucket at its listed price, $30 or $36.75. There is no minimum, and shipping is calculated at checkout like any order.
Do buckets and blocks count toward one tier?
No. They tier separately, and only 35 lb blocks count toward the 57+ block price. Cart coupons also do not apply to bulk tallow.
