Unwind direction The edge that comes off the roll first. Labels come on 3 in cores. Applying by hand? #3 is our default and usually prices lowest. Using an applicator? Match its direction.

PDF, AI (with PDF compatibility), PNG, or JPG, up to 40 MB each. Your total is split across your designs; change any design's count and the total follows.
After you order, you upload your designs and split the labels across them.
After you order, you send your logo, words, and ideas. We design each label and email you a proof to approve. The design service is refundable until you send your brief.
Printing
We print your belly bands in our shop on 65 lb card stock. They are ready within 3 business days after you approve your artwork.
Delivery
Your labeled stock then ships to you in bulk. To ship each order to your customers, use TallowPal.

Materials and finishes

Balm, lotion, and deodorant
White or clear BOPP plastic is water and oil resistant, so it holds up to greasy fingers and bathroom shelves. Ultra-clear gives a no-label look on glass.

Lip balm tubes
Lip balm labels come in white or clear BOPP with a tight mandrel adhesive, made to hold around a narrow tube.

Paper looks and finishes
Kraft, estate, and felt papers suit dry products and are not water or oil resistant. Plastic labels come in gloss, matte, or soft-touch matte, plus thermal transfer finishes you can print dates or lot codes on.
Artwork
Files that print right the first time
Start from the template for your label. It has the exact size, bleed, and safe area.
- Add 1/16 in of bleed on every side and keep words 1/16 in inside the cut line
- Use vector art, or images at 300 dpi or more at print size
- Design in CMYK and outline your fonts
- Keep text at 5 pt or larger, and 6 to 7 pt for white text
- One file per design, named for what it is, like Vanilla Lotion 8 oz

How many labels do I have to order?
100 labels per design, in steps of 50. Your designs add up: three scents at 100 labels each count as three times that toward the volume price, so the more labels in total, the lower the price per label.
Can I order a custom size or shape?
The labels on this page are sized for our products and containers. For a different size or shape, email us with the size, shape, material, and quantity, and we will quote it.
Do more designs cost more?
A little. Each extra design adds a small setup charge, and every label still counts toward the volume price. The price updates as you add designs, before you check out.
Which material should I use for balm and lotion?
White or clear BOPP. It is plastic, and it is water and oil resistant, which matters for anything with tallow or oils in it. Paper labels are not water or oil resistant.
Why do lip balm labels use a tight mandrel adhesive?
A lip balm tube is narrow, and a label wrapped around a tight curve wants to lift at the edges. Tight mandrel adhesive is made to hold on small curves, so it is the only choice we offer for lip balm.
Does deodorant need two labels?
Yes. Each deodorant stick takes a front label and a back label, both 2.75 x 2.75 in. Upload your front designs and back designs separately. Scents can share one back design.
Do you print belly bands for soap?
Yes, for our 4 oz tallow soap bars only. A belly band is a ribbon label on 65 lb card stock, 11 x 1.56 in, that wraps the front, both sides, and the back of the bar. We print your bands in our shop, ready within 3 business days after you approve. We can ship them to you with the rest of your order (they are light, and shipping is calculated at checkout), or keep them here (choose Keep at our shop to apply) and apply them to your soap before we ship it to you: a banded bar costs the soap, its band, $0.75 to apply it, and shipping. Bands are 100 per design and start at $0.15 each, down to $0.09 each at 10,000 or more. Download the belly band template.
Can I order now and send my artwork later?
Yes. Choose Upload artwork later and enter how many designs and labels you want. Your order confirmation, order email, and account all have a link to upload your files and approve them. We print after you approve.
Can your team design my labels?
Yes, for $295.00 per design. Choose Our team designs it and send your logo, words, and ideas after checkout. Your first proof arrives within 3 to 5 business days, and 3 revisions are included. Nothing prints until you approve it, and the design service is refundable until you send your brief.
What files can I upload?
PDF, AI saved with PDF compatibility, PNG, or JPG, up to 40 MB each. Working in Photoshop, InDesign, or Canva? Export a PDF. We show a proof of each file on its label, with the cut line and safe area, before you add it to the cart.
How long do custom labels take?
Your labels ship in about 6 business days after you approve your artwork.
Is shipping free?
Yes, within the lower 48 states. Your labels ship in their own box, separate from the rest of your order. If your order also has soap, tallow, or other products, those ship at the normal rate calculated at checkout, and the labels add nothing. For Alaska, Hawaii, or APO, FPO, and DPO addresses, email us for a shipping quote.
Can you keep my labels here and apply them?
Yes. In the Delivery step, choose Send to us to apply. Your labels come to our shop instead of to you, and we put them on your products before we ship the stock to you in bulk. Applying them is $0.75 for each label we apply, billed with your order. To ship each order to your customers, use TallowPal, our dropshipping app.
What if something is wrong with my labels?
Tell us within 14 days of delivery, with your order number and photos. If your labels are defective, arrived damaged, or came up more than 10% short, we reprint them or refund them. We print the artwork you approve exactly as it is, so check spelling and layout before you approve. Read our custom label policy.
Do coupons work on custom labels?
No. Label prices are set close to our printing cost, so coupons and store credit do not apply to them, and labels do not count toward a coupon minimum.
Will the colors match my screen?
Screens show color differently, so use your proof to check the words, layout, and placement. For the closest color, design in CMYK.
